The Children of La Salette bas-relief is the final element of our project for the Parish of Our Lady of La Salette in Gdańsk-Sobieszewo.
The bas-relief made of stucco is 1.2 meters high. We created the polychrome on the bas-relief which looks like polished wood.
Maksymin and Melania focus their attention entirely on Mary, who sits with her face buried in her hands. The shape and form of the plinth evoke mountain peaks. That is the characteristic site of the apparitions at La Salette, small mountain village. The observer gets the impression that the children are standing on a path beneath a mountain peak.
We completed the comprehensive interior design of the church. The starting point were the unchanging elements of the sanctuary: the altar, pulpit, and the place where Mass is celebrated.
Elements we designed and manufactured for the parish of Our Lady of La Salette in Gdańsk-Sobieszewo:
- bronze tabernacle
- sculpture of Christ
- sculpture of Mary
- altar
- pulpit
- baptismal font
- candlesticks at the altar
- mosaics.
The materials we used for the project included marble, bronze elements, and onyx. We made the sculpture of Christ of stucco with a polychrome finish resembling polished wood.
Light is a crucial element of any sacred interior design. We designed the sanctuary illumination. The light emanated from behind the cross and illuminated the figure of the Virgin Mary.
