Passion is a word derived from Latin and means suffering. Passion refers to those themes from the Gospels that describe the suffering of Jesus Christ. And what does the term “passion” mean in architecture? These are artistic imaginations of the final moments of Jesus life, such as scenes from the Last Supper, the Stations of the Cross, or the crucifixion. These types of sacred sculpture are found inside churches, on their facades, or in the surrounding of the church.
Christ on the cross as an example of sacred sculpture.

We have been making sacred sculptures for many years. However, sculptures depicting Christ on the cross are a special area of our work. Why? Because the cross symbolizes not only suffering, but above all, the hope that Jesus will resurrect.
Sacred Sculptures – artistic passion or artisanal torment?
The word “passion” has many meanings. If someone does something “with passion,” this activity quickens the heartbeat and gives a sense of fulfillment. In our case, there is something more. Every commission for a sculpture of the crucified Christ is an honor and a great responsibility for us.
Sacred Sculptures – why are they so important?
A cross placed in the center of a church attracts the attention of the faithful. It emphasizes the sacredness of the place and ties together the interior composition of the building. It is extremely important for us to design the sculpture so that it does not dominate the sacred space.
A cross should not cause fear, but rather create confidence in God’s Mercy. That is why with every commission we try to capture infinity in the high quality framework.

How does our passion for creation relate to the passion from the Gospel?
For artists, passion isn’t just the joy of completing a sculpture. The creative process also has other aspects. Designing a sculpture, welding, wetting the clay, and doing other activities that comprise our work are a huge undertaking, rarely shown on photos.
This is a challenge that sometimes seems beyond human strength, which is why it requires our prayer and cooperation with the Holy Spirit.

We create custom religious sculptures & liturgical art. We design and build church interiors.
