Who was Carlo Acutis – a blessed millennial? He was born in London in 1991. His parents and friends recall him as an exceptionally gifted child. His mother claims he spoke his first word at just three months old, and even as a toddler, he was fascinated by programming and editing films.
However, this isn’t the story of an exceptionally gifted child, as we can find many such children, even in our immediate surroundings.
So who was Carlo Acutis – a blessed millennial?
Carl Acutis was distinguished by…
…extraordinary piety.
When he was four years old, he dreamed of his deceased grandfather. He asked Carl to pray for him and for other souls remaining in Purgatory. This request was very moving, and from that day on, he prayed daily for the souls in Purgatory.
Entire life of Carl was devoted to the Holy Mass, which he attended daily from a young age. He called it “the highway to heaven.” Moreover, he received his First Holy Communion at the age of seven at his own request. He went to confession once a week. His commitment and attitude influenced the lives of many people and led to numerous conversions.
Carlo Acutis Life’s Work.
From a young age, Carlo Acutis demonstrated considerable computer skills (he received a computer on his eighth birthday). These skills allowed him to conduct intensive evangelization activities, which were not interrupted even by his illness.
In 2002, inspired by the Meeting di Rimini exhibition, Carlo decided to organize an exhibition on Eucharistic Miracles recognized by the Church. The work took him two and a half years to complete. Since 2005, the exhibition has been presented on every continent. On Carlo Acutis’s official website, You can also find three websites. He designed: “Apparitions of the Virgin Mary”, “Hell, Purgatory, Paradise”, and “Angels and Demons”.
Let’s remember that we’re still talking about a teenager. Apart from his Evangelizm activities, attended school, did homework, played soccer with his friends, played the saxophone, and cared for his pets (dogs, cats, and fish). Many of us wouldn’t have lived 50 years to accomplish all these kinds of activities. However this blessed millennial had only 15 years…

Carlo was diagnosed with leukemia in 2006. Initially, it was suspected to be the flu. After a short but serious illness, he died, offering his life for the Pope and the Church. He was buried in Assisi, a city he particularly loved because of St. Francis.

Carlo Acutis – working on the reliquary.

Creating a reliquary involves searching for photos, inspiration, distinctive elements, and attributes of the blessed person. If the sculpture is to provide a realistic representation of the figure, it’s crucial to capture the character of the figure.
The goal is for the reliquary’s form to be unmistakably associated with the person, but also to attract attention.
Casting has its own technical requirements, so both the design and the sculpted model must meet these requirements. Functionality, comfort of holding, and quality of workmanship are also crucial.
The Carlo Acutis reliquary is unique among other reliquaries. We decided that its form should be inspiring, just like his extraordinary life.

A Prayer for the Intercession of Blessed Carlo Acutis:
God, our Father, we thank You for giving us Carlo, a model of life for young people and a call to love for everyone.
By making the Eucharist a “highway to heaven,” You allowed him to love Your Son. You gave him Mary, our most beloved Mother, and through the Rosary allowed us to sing of Her tenderness. Accept his prayer for us. Look above all upon the poor whom he loved and helped, and through his intercession, grant me also the grace I ask of You…
By introducing Carlo into the company of the saints of the Church, grant us fullness of joy; may his smile be a light for us too, for the glory of Your Name. Amen. Our Father… Hail Mary… Glory be to the Father…
